Our pastoral staff brings over three decades of wisdom, experience, and passion for the church and God’s people, committed to excellence in ministry. The staff of Parkside Bible Church is eager and willing to assist you in your walk with the Lord.

Lead Pastor Gary Spykerman has served as a pastor for over 32 years and as a professor at Grace Bible College for over 7 years training the next generation of pastors. He desires to share the Scriptures in preaching and teaching and through his personal walk with Jesus Christ. He has a deep passion for the local church and is committed to the development of Christlikeness in every believer. Pastor Gary and his wife, Sue, are the parents of 4 children and have 10 grandchildren.

Associate Pastor Joe Johnson has been at Parkside since 2017. After graduating from Grace Bible College in 2013, he pursued his Masters of Divinity at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Pastor Joe loves sharing the good news of new life in Christ. He is married to Kaylee and they have 4 children and 2 dogs.

Community Life Pastor Jerry Bomers is passionate about the development of a strong and unified community of believers. He credits much of his spiritual development to the numerous individuals in his church family who poured into his life during his formative years. As Jerry grew in his faith in Christ, he felt called to full-time ministry during his senior year of high school. He graduated from Grace Christian University in 2009, and again in 2023 with his master’s degree. Jerry met his wife, Sandi, in his time at GCU. The two of them met on a missions trip to Puerto Rico and felt called to one day serve the Lord overseas. In 2016, they moved to Paraguay, where they worked on church planting and discipleship in Ciudad del Este. In 2023, Jerry, Sandi and their three children returned to West Michigan to serve alongside the community of believers at Parkside Bible Church.

Kaylee Johnson joined the Parkside staff in 2022 as Worship Facilitator. She has an Associate’s degree from Grace Christian University where she studied worship arts and women’s ministry. She has traveled around the United States singing and leading worship and was a member of the Tommee Profitt Band for 3 years. Kaylee has had a strong desire starting as a child to lead others into a safe place of worship and she longs to elevate Christ through music, praise and Scripture. Kaylee is the wife of Pastor Joe Johnson, and they have 4 children, Norah, Soren, Eisley and Audrey and 2 canine friends Cohen and Teddy.

Phyllis Vanderbilt joined the staff at Parkside in 2023. She serves as the administrative director. She’s encouraging, loves people, and will help anyone with anything. She and her husband Jim live in Zeeland.

Rex Deboer leads the maintenance and custodial team at Parkside. He has served in this role for 30 years. Rex can fix anything and loves working outside. If you ever have questions about our building, he’s your guy. He and his wife Pam live in Holland and have two adult daughters.

Dale Bronsink assists Rex in the custodial duties. Dale has been an elder and deacon several times and loves Parkside. Dale is the most thankful person you’ll meet and His trust in our Lord is contagious. He and his wife Donna live in Holland and have 3 adult children, all in different parts of the country.
